Humour is the regal quality that embraces the imperfections of existence with a benevolent smile, discovering the gleam of perfection in life's darker aspects. True humour always goes hand in hand with appreciation. It is founded on the knowledge that everything is in constant flux, every situation is fleeting, and nothing lasts forever. I try to live by this philosophy, thus breaking through the „seriousness of life“. My pictures are an expression of the joy of life and of being. I don't look for pictures; they sense me and find me.
FERNERS World
Diversity prevents narrow-mindedness. The narrative is what counts. Every story already contains the character and form that merely need to be revealed. Thus, images, objects, installations, poems, songs, plays and written works appear and become opulent painting or fine lines, poetic observation or sharp caricature. Some things want to be painted, others sung, and yet others only become visible through deliberate omission. The studio has no walls; it is a meeting point and a repository, a workbench and a studio, a laboratory and a research institute.

Following the artist's diverse body of work, countless opportunities arise to engage with M. Ferner's art. Whether in private homes or public collections, hotels and company headquarters, newspapers and art magazines, Land Art projects and in public spaces. Or you might meet the artist personally when he's on tour with cabaret or theatre.

In the heart of Salzburg, near the Mirabell Gardens, arose with the Galerie M. Ferner – House of Art A place for art, meeting and creative diversity.

The House for Art is a gallery, a venue for readings, music, cabaret, and a meeting place for artists and visitors in the heart of Salzburg. The ideal place to create a timeless present. A life in the now. From horizon to horizon.
THE IDEA
The House for Art is our pet project. We run it together with a wonderful team and see it as an echo chamber for the latest work cycles and a base camp for our extensive exhibition tours.
She is the hub for artistic discourse and a colourful international meeting place. Stimulating and exciting, just like life.
